These sheets have no constants. Every number is worked from the figures you enter: the headcount, the span of control, the people at the top, the contractors, the redraws and the minutes each takes, the profile fields and how complete they are, the lookups a week, the minutes a lookup takes, the hourly costs, the joiners and leavers, and the dotted-line share, count, check-in length and interval. The defaults are one 120-person company's worked example, not a benchmark this site publishes.
An AI org chart is usually sold as the chart drawing itself, and the useful part is smaller and more boring than that: taking a staff list with a manager column and turning it into the boxes and lines without anybody dragging a shape. What it cannot do is decide your span of control, tell you which contractors belong on the chart, or know that two people share a manager because of a project that ended in March. This page separates the two: the arithmetic the planner does from your figures, and the judgement that stays yours. On the worked example the arithmetic is 15 managers, 105 individual contributors, four layers and 128 boxes; the judgement is everything else.

Give it a list, not a drawing
Name, title, department, location and manager is enough to draw a chart automatically. On the worked example nine fields make a profile and 62% of them are complete, which means 478 empty fields; automation draws what the list says, so the list is where the work is.
Keep the span of control a decision, not an output
Headcount divided by the span plus one is the managers the shape implies: at a span of seven, 120 people need 15. Change the span to five and the same company needs 20 managers. No model should be choosing that number for you; the sheet prints both so you can.
Check the lines a list cannot know
On the worked example 22% of a 140-person company has a second manager, at 1.4 lines each, which is 43 dotted lines a staff export does not contain. Those are the lines that make a chart wrong, and they are entered by a person who knows the company.
Questions people ask about the AI org chart
Does Orgbix use AI to draw the chart? The chart is drawn from the reporting lines in your records, which is deterministic and checkable. The free sheets are arithmetic printed beside its own working, with no model in the way.
Can it guess who reports to whom? It should not. A guessed reporting line on a published chart is worse than a missing one, because nobody knows to correct it.
What about the dotted lines? They are entered, because no export contains them. The dotted line reporting sheet counts what they cost in standing check-ins once you have.
